The Procedure

The process is fast and simple, with no downtime post-treatment and no serious side effects. It can be performed every 30 days, following the skin’s rejuvenation cycle. The procedure removes weeks worth of dead skin from the face, as well as the vellus hair. Also referred to as peach fuzz, this hair will not grow back thicker and darker as terminal hair does. Those with superficial acne scarring or uneven skin tone are perfect candidates for this procedure. Our older patients can also benefit since skin tends to build up more dead cells due to the slower turnover of cells as we age. It is safe for those who are pregnant or people with sensitive skin. Those with acne or excess oil, are not recommended for this procedure. The dermaplaning procedure removes the hair, so oils can cause bacteria growth which may lead to acne breakouts.
