As your big day approaches, all of the stress and pressure of finalizing details is weighing heavy on your shoulders and can show on your skin. A relaxing day at the spa sounds amazing, but which pre-wedding facial treatments should you be receiving before your big day? With the wide variety of options to choose from at Premier Spa and Laser Center, selecting facial and acne treatment Newark DE that will rejuvenate and hydrate your skin is crucial. Brides to be, we have your back! Here is our facial and spa Newark DE schedule for soon-to-be brides.
Book a classic facial appointment.
Your wedding is six months away, it’s time to book an appointment with one of our highly qualified and licensed aestheticians. This appointment should be scheduled asap to get your acne, fine line, or dark spot treatments started. When booking this appointment, go ahead and treat yourself with scheduling a classic facial as well. Scheduling both of these things will not only allow you and your aesthetician to speak about what exactly you are looking to achieve by your wedding day, but will also allow for your aesthetician to learn about your facial skin and better plan for the future. Possible topics to cover at this appointment are any sort of acne treatment Newark DE, botox or dermal fillers, laser hair removal Newark DE, and chemical peels Newark DE. Before leaving, have a detailed list of the procedures, products, and times that each should take place and schedule those out as well.
Plump with Dermal fillers.
Dermal fillers are becoming increasingly popular for brides because they add or replace lost volume to lips, cheeks, and under-eye areas, and can define your jawline. Because your face will be the star of the show, we understand wanting to plump and tone. If you’ve never had dermal fillers before, schedule your first treatment six to nine months before your wedding, allowing time for more natural results. Fillers typically last six months, so plan for your last treatment no less than six weeks before your wedding to relieve swelling and bruising and allow the injections to look more natural on your face.
Book a personalized facial appointment.
Your wedding day is now only three months away, and crunch time is here. Going off of your personalized facial schedule that your Premier Spa and Laser Center aesthetician organized for you, book another facial tailored to your skin type. For dry skin, opt for a moisturizing facial or clarifying for oily or acne-prone skin.
Rejuvenate with a chemical peel.
This is also a perfect time to receive one of our customized chemical peels Newark DE. A chemical peel consists of applying a chemical solution to the targeted area of the face to superficially remove the rough, dry outer epidermal layers of the skin. This is great for boosting cellular turnover and hydration levels which can improve fine lines, pore size, sun-damaged skin, uneven skin coloring, and light acne scars. It is important to have this treatment performed at least a few weeks to months before your wedding, especially if your honeymoon is somewhere warm and tropical to avoid irritation.
Purify with Isolaz.
Isolaz is a unique acne treatment Newark DE that combines vacuum and painless broadband light to deep clean and purify our pores from the inside out. It is a reliable and effective acne therapy, with quick and long-lasting results for all skin types. It can be used to treat the face, neck, chest, back, and shoulders. On average, clients are recommended to receive four to six Isolaz treatments, but many will continue to schedule every one to two weeks until they have reached their desired result.
Exfoliate with Microdermabrasion or a light chemical peel.
Depending on what your aesthetician suggests, a thorough facial exfoliation through microdermabrasion or chemical peels Newark DE is suggested a month before your wedding. Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical, non-invasive procedure that utilizes a laser-cut diamond tip in combination with light suction to improve the appearance of fine lines, uneven skin tone and pigmentation, large pores, blackheads, and light acne scars. The skin is gently sanded, removing the thicker rough outer layer of cells/skin. It also helps to thicken the collagen in the area treated. Collagen makes the skin appear taut and smooth. Skin is revitalized and more vibrant immediately following the procedure.
Dermal fillers
Refill on any previous dermal fillers to ensure your face is plumped, lifted, and defined. Having this treatment done a few weeks before your wedding will ensure that any swelling and bruising has diminished and your face is left looking natural for your big day.
Purify with extractions.
The best way to get rid of your blackheads and those white bumps on your face is to see a professional, licensed aesthetician. You run the risks of scarring or infection if you try to “pop” or “pick” them yourself which is the last thing you want on your face walking down the aisle. Our aestheticians may customize your acne treatment Newark DE combining extractions with other services such as microdermabrasion or Isolaz treatments. If you need extractions, make sure you do them 15 days before the wedding to allow time for your skin to settle down.
Smooth your facial skin with Dermaplaning.
Dermaplaning is an effective, safe, non-invasive, non-surgical physical exfoliation procedure. It requires the use of a sterile, surgical scalpel to gently shave and exfoliate the skin’s surface, removing the top-most layer of dead skin along with fine, peach fuzz. Dermaplaning allows for deeper product penetration, Promotes smoother skin and brighter skin appearance, and instantly allows your makeup to be applied more evenly and look smoother.
Hydrate with a HydraFacial.
Lastly, we suggest getting a HydraFacial. HydraFacials help with uneven skin texture, congested skin, and enlarged pores for a glowing Bride-to-be complexion. There is virtually no downtime, and you can even have it done several times in the weeks leading up to your wedding. Hello, post married glow!
While this is a tentative pre wedding schedule, each bride’s facial skin is different. This means that the only way for you to receive a personalized care routine is to visit and speak with our licensed aestheticians about your concerns and wishes for your big day.

]]>Quarantine snacking is a real thing. According to Forbes, processed snacks sales have increased by 30% during the coronavirus quarantine. With excess snacking and overeating, comes the extra weight gain and increase in body fat. Premier Spa and Laser Center in Delaware provides body sculpting services such as CoolSculpting and Emsculpt to get you back on track.
CoolSculpting is an FDA-cleared, non-invasive procedure that helps contour your body by reducing fat cells in the targeted area. It works by a cooling system that gently and effectively targets the fat cells underneath the surface of the skin. Over time the cells die due to the “freezing of the fat,” and your body naturally eliminates the cells. Since this procedure is non-surgical, there is no downtime making it very easy to return to normal activities immediately. Premier Spa and Laser Center in Delaware have seen results that are proven, noticeable, and long-lasting.
Emsculpt is the first and only non-invasive medical procedure that helps both men and women build and define muscles to sculpt their bodies without needles, knives, or anesthesia. The technology uses electromagnetic energy to build muscle fibers and muscle volume. Premier Spa and Laser Center use Emsculpt as an FDA cleared form of increasing muscle mass and number of muscle fibers. Muscle is built through High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic energy (HIFEM) which induces supramaximal contractions. When doing a sit-up or a squat, your muscles voluntarily contract by using approximately 40% muscle capacity. Emsculpt forces your muscles into using 100% of their capacity, ultimately increasing muscle density and muscle mass. One 30-minute session of Emsculpt is equivalent to 20,000 sit-ups, or 20,000 squats!
Great news! Premier Spa and Laser Center provide both services so you do not have to choose. Emsculpt implodes fat cells as it builds muscle definition, but not as intense as CoolSculpting. Therefore, CoolSculpting deeply targets fat cells underneath the skin surface while Emscuplt increases muscle mass. Come into Premier Spa and Laser Center to achieve the summer body you want.

]]>Any aspirin-based painkillers should not be used during the week before your treatment. You should also avoid Motrin or any other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS). Painkillers such as these can affect the bloodstream in a way that can lead to bruising from the treatment.
Anti-aging products can cause a change in the skin’s natural consistency, which may lead to bruising or unpredictable results. Avoid anti-aging products for two days before your session.
People often use Vitamin E for its immune system benefits as well as its potential for lowering the risk of cancer and heart disease. It can have effects similar to those of aspirin on NSAIDS on treatment, so refrain from taking Vitamin E for 7-10 days before your treatment.
Many people use Gingko Biloba because it is known to reduce anxiety and depression, improve circulation, and encourage heightened brain function. The improved circulation can lead to changes in the bloodstream that are not beneficial during treatment. Do not use Gingko Biloba for 7-10 days before treatment.
Fish oil is often taken to encourage weight loss, improve heart health, and get healthier skin. However, these effects may be problematic for dermal filler treatments. Avoid any fish oil supplements for 7-10 days before treatment.
It is extremely important not to have alcohol in your system when treatment is performed, so do not consume alcohol during the 24 before your session. Avoid it altogether on the day before treatment.

]]>When the top layer of skin is removed through microdermabrasion, the body interprets it as an injury. It reacts by replacing the lost skin cells with healthy, new cells, doing so more quickly than usual. It results in firmer, more toned, and more youthful-looking skin. Microdermabrasion has been found to be an effective treatment for wrinkles, stretch marks, uneven skin tone, melasma, hyperpigmentation, and scarring.
A common reason that many people use microdermabrasion is to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles that result from stress, sun damage, and natural aging. The location of your wrinkles and the number of treatments you receive will be a determining factor in how effective your results will be. Incorporating a moisturizer and toner into your skincare routine may help improve results.
Microdermabrasion may be used to treat hyperpigmentation, which can refer to melasma or any type of darker patches or age spots on the skin. However, you may need more than microdermabrasion treatments to see results for hyperpigmentation, such as laser therapy and topical vitamin C.
Microdermabrasion is not recommended for those with an active acne breakout or irritated skin, including blackheads. If you get blackheads often, though, it may be a way to shrink your pores. Some dermatologists recommend microdermabrasion as a treatment for making pores less visible and improving the skin’s conditioning.
Although microdermabrasion will not work on an active acne breakout, it may have a positive effect on it, depending on what triggers your acne. It has been demonstrated as an effective way to decrease the visibility of acne scars.
Microdermabrasion encourages cell turnover, speeding up your skin’s ability to heal. The treatment is especially effective when stretch marks first appear.

Microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive procedure used to renew overall skin tone and texture. It can improve the appearance of sun damage, wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, acne scarring, melasma, and other skin-related conditions. Through removing cells from your outermost layer of skin, microdermabrasion promotes new cells to regenerate more quickly than they would ordinarily. The result is skin that looks firmer, more toned, and more youthful.
This non-surgical, non-invasive procedure utilizes a laser-cut diamond tip in combination with light suction to improve the appearance of fine lines, uneven skin tone and pigmentation, large pores, blackheads, and light acne scars. The skin is gently sanded, removing the thick uneven outer layer of cells/skin. At the end of the treatment, moisturizer, as well as sunscreen, will be applied to the area.
Microdermabrasion helps with the treatment of hyperpigmentation. This can be referred to as melasma, or any type of aging spots or darker patches on your skin. Another benefit of using microdermabrasion if you get blackheads often, this treatment may be a way to shrink your pores. Microdermabrasion is recommended by some dermatologists as a treatment for improving your skin’s conditioning and making pores less visible. Microdermabrasion encourages cell turnover, which can speed your skin’s ability to heal. That could be why the treatment is especially effective when stretch marks first appear.
There is no significant recovery time but you may leave a little flushed and swollen but it subsides within a few hours. The skin may be flaky and dry for a few days but we recommend Elta MD post-treatment moisturizers and balms. After all of our treatments, we recommend sun protection and sunscreen because the skin is more sensitive to sun exposure following the treatment.
The cost of this procedure does vary depending on the area(s) being treated. As mentioned earlier the back, chest, arms, neck, and face can be affected by acne. The number of treatments is dependent on which condition it is being treated. We do recommend a series of 6 for best results. They can be spaced two to four weeks apart. It is common for our aestheticians to customize your treatment in order to obtain your desired results. Microdermabrasion can be done before an Isolaz or chemical peel which would also affect the cost.

Laser hair removal is used to reduce unwanted hair on the legs, armpits, upper lip, chin, bikini line, or any other area (except the eyelid). If you aspire to have super smooth skin and want to worry less about shaving, you may consider laser hair removal. Before your appointment, you will want to follow these guidelines:
Stay out of the sun for at least two weeks prior to your appointment. This includes any other tanning methods such as tanning beds and self-tanners. It can lead to discoloration after your laser treatment and, even worse, sunburn can cause extreme pain and blistering. If you must be out in the sun, be sure to use plenty of sunscreen.
These methods can disturb the hair follicle and interfere with your laser hair removal process. Shaving, however, preserves the hair shaft and follicles. It is recommended to shave with a clean, new razor prior to your appointment.
The skin at the treatment site should be clean of deodorant, cosmetics, lotions, and creams. Simply use soap and water to clean the area.
The treated area should either be exposed or covered by loose clothing. If your skin is sensitive after treatment, it may become irritated from tight clothing.
Lasers are designed to target the dark pigment of each hair follicle; they are not effective on blonde, gray, or red hair. If you bleach your hairs regularly, it is recommended to stop at least one month before your appointment.
If you are interested in laser hair removal, call today to schedule a complimentary consultation! Once you have taken the steps to prepare for your appointment, your laser hair removal will be a breeze. Premier Spa & Laser Center is the latest addition to the beauty and skin scene in Delaware. It is without a doubt that our skin will age. However, there are some things we cannot do anything about, and others we can influence. As we age, our face will begin developing visible lines called wrinkles. It is natural for our skin to lose its elasticity and become thinner. These issues are inevitable, but we can influence other types of aging that affect our skin: our environment and our lifestyle.
The sun is a large factor in prematurely aging our skin. Whether that be through tanning outside in the sun, a tanning bed, or any other indoor tanning equipment. If you plan on going to get a tan, apply a sufficient amount of sunscreen. Preferably a broad-spectrum, SPF 30 (or higher), and water-resistant. All tanning solutions emit harmful UV rays that accelerate how quickly your skin ages.
Smoking is not only harmful to your skin but also your lungs. Smoking speeds up how quickly skin ages, causing wrinkles and produces a dull complexion.
Making a facial expression contracts the muscles underlying your skin. When you repeatedly make a certain facial expression for several years, then these lines become permanent causing wrinkles. Diets which contain excessive sugar and carbs can also accelerate aging.
Moderate exercise throughout the week helps improve circulation and boost your immune system. This helps give skin a more youthful appearance. Also, exercise releases endorphins which make you feel happier. Lastly, working out will help you look better.
Washing your face twice a day and after sweating heavily will help clear out any bacteria clogging your pores. You will also want to wash your skin as soon as possible after sweating.
Lastly, if you are still struggling with skincare or would just like to find a routine that best suits your skin, it is ideal to seek professional help. At the Premier Spa & Laser Center, there are many non-surgical treatments available that can improve the appearance of your skin and correct pre-existing damage. Make sure you don’t damage your skin by trying to correct it yourself. To learn more about your skin and tips to keeping it healthy, Contact Us Today!

Dermal fillers help diminish facial lines and restore volume and fullness in the face. Visible signs of aging can be traced to volume loss. As we age, our faces naturally lose subcutaneous fat. The facial muscles are then working closer to the skin surface, so smile lines and crow’s feet become more apparent. This makes your face look a little hollow. Dermal fillers can replace lost volume to help smooth wrinkles, plump the lips, and restore a more youthful appearance.
Dermal filler injections are non-surgical and are typically completed during an office visit. Your initial treatment will begin with a consultation, during which you will meet with your cosmetic surgeon to discuss your concerns and goals. The risks associated with dermal fillers are minimal, however, you need to fully disclose your medical history, allergies, or medications to your doctor.
Just before the actual treatment, the area will be cleaned, and you will be given a topic anesthetic to numb the area before injection. Many filler products contain lidocaine, a mild anesthetic which helps reduce discomfort during and after your treatment. Your provider will then inject a precise amount of filler strategically beneath the skin.
Depending on the product and the area(s) being treated, you should be able to notice results immediately after receiving filler injections. Some patients may experience mild bruising and swelling, but these are not permanent. After a few days, these symptoms should subside. Right after treatment, you are able to go back to your daily activities. However, some surgeons ask that you take a day off from exercising and strenuous activity,
We offer complimentary consultations for those clients wanting to learn more about what steps they could take in rejuvenating their natural look and feel. High-intensity pulse light therapy, known as IPL, uses different wavelengths of light the clear the skin. The pulsed light can reach down to the second layer of the skin, without harming the top layer. The light is absorbed by the pigmented skin cells and converted to heat, which destroys unwanted pigment. This treatment is great for treating freckles, birthmarks, varicose veins, rosacea, and age or sunspots. It can be performed on almost all areas of the skin, but the most popular are the face, neck, chest, arms, and hands.
The first step of an IPL treatment is scheduling a consultation. When you meet with one of our skilled aestheticians, they will examine your skin and create a treatment plan that is perfect for you. Premier Spa’s new Visia Complexion Analysis System allows us to determine the exact condition your skin is in, so we can track how your skin is making progress through treatments. Before treatment, you will need to avoid tanning beds, waxing, chemical peels and drugs that increase bleeding risk such as ibuprofen.
When you come in for your first IPL treatment, your aesthetician will begin by cleaning your skin. Next, a cool gel is applied and you are ready to begin. The pulsed light uses a combination of radiofrequency and broad-spectrum light to fade the unwanted pigment. Every treatment lasts 20 to 30 minutes, and we recommend three to five treatments that are spaced four to six weeks apart.
There is no downtime with IPL, so patients can resume their normal activities immediately. A few hours after treatment you may notice your skin is red like a sunburn, but this will only last a couple of hours. You will want to avoid hot water until the skin is fully healed. Also, you may notice an increase in pigmentation, and this is because the pulsed light removed it and it is now rising to the surface. Furthermore, you will notice a gradual improvement in your skin’s tone and texture as new healthy skin cells evolve. If you are interested in learning more and want to schedule a consultation, call Premier Spa and Laser today!

Unfortunately, we cannot stop the aging process, but we can help slow it down! It’s never too early to start taking preventative measures against fine lines and wrinkles. Neuromodulators such as Botox and Dysport can help delay, alleviate or soften expression lines in the frown, forehead and eye areas. Dermal fillers soften laugh lines, restore fullness where lost, and plumps lips. Chemical peels and topical creams can help stimulate collagen growth, which over time we begin to lose. Here are a few anti-aging procedures we specialize in here at Premier Spa & Laser Center.
IPL or high-intensity pulse light therapy is another option for those who do not have downtime. Furthermore, these people may also be good candidates for laser skin resurfacing or chemical peels. Our IPL device uses a combination of radiofrequency and broad-spectrum light to safely fade or eliminate sun spots, facial flushing, broken capillaries, freckles, redness, and more. The face, neck, chest, arms, and hands are the most common areas where this treatment works best. Similarly, some areas like the back and legs are also areas where treatment can be used. IPL works best on lighter skin types that are not tanned. We recommend avoiding sun exposure during times of this treatment.
Premier Spa & Laser Center now offers you a more affordable laser skin resurfacing with less downtime. The Sublative Skin Rejuvenation treatment is a unique procedure which uses fractionated bi-polar radio frequency to deliver effective but controlled treatment for mild to moderate wrinkles. Further reducing acne scars and large pores, as well as creating smoother more elastic texture. Radiofrequency (RF) energy is precisely directed into the skin in the form of a matrix. Healthy skin around the matrix dot accelerates the healing process of the skin. Post-treatment, new collagen, and healthy skin cells are produced. The Sublative laser penetrates more deeply than creams and peels. It also addresses your skin’s overall tone and texture more effectively than injectables.
You may have tried an over the counter treatment at home or had one at a spa, but the most effective peels are those performed by a medical professional such as a licensed aesthetician. Premier Spa & Laser Center customizes their peels to meet the needs of their clients. A chemical peel consists of applying a chemical solution to the targeted area to superficially remove (peel) the outer epidermal layers of skin which hold onto damage and are often rough and dry. The type of chemical used will depend on your skin type and skin condition. These treatments can improve fine lines, pore size, sun-damaged skin, uneven skin coloring, and light acne scars. The number of treatments will be determined at the time of consultation to achieve the best results for your skin.

Dermaplaning uses a surgical scalpel to safely exfoliate the skin. By removing the top layer of the dead skin and the vellus hairs, also known as “peach fuzz”, the skin is left feeling smooth and clean. The technicians at Premier Spa and Laser Center recommend that this procedure is done one month apart, ensuring that the skin has completed its natural rejuvenation cycle, which can prevent peeling. This procedure is only done on the face, and the eyebrows and nose are avoided.
The best candidates for dermaplaning have dry, rough skin and are looking to reduce acne or an uneven skin tone. All adults are eligible for this treatment, even pregnant women. As we age our skin doesn’t reproduce cells as fast, meaning there is a larger buildup of dead skin cells. Because of this, our older patients have had great results with dermaplaning. Those with acne or oily skin should not have a dermaplaning treatment. This treatment removes the hairs which could allow the oil to cause bacteria growth which could lead to acne breakouts.
The vellus hair being removed is not like other hair on your body. This hair will not grow back darker or thicker, so it safe to be removed every month. If you are interested in a dermaplaning treatment, Schedule A Consultation at Premier Spa and Laser Center. Our skilled technicians can walk you through the process, and answer any questions you may have. Visit our recent specials to see how we can help you achieve your dream of beautiful skin today!
